Theater

Since childhood, J.D. has made his home in the theater both on-stage and off.

As a boy, he played featured roles in shows such as Alice in Wonderland, Oliver!, and Mary Poppins in community theater,  and was chosen to be a lead for multiple roles in the first annual CINEMAGIC! showcase; a cabaret of songs featured in movies, plays, and cartoons performed by the kids of the Pleasant Valley School District to a sold out crowd of 1800 people at the Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza!

He continued to study Theater, improv, and performance throughout middle and high school; directing, writing, and performing in various skits and shorts and plays. Whether it was directing an old-west spoof of Shakespeare’s Romeo & Juliet, to performing as the Cowardly Lion in The Wizard of Oz, J.D. manages to ignite a magical spark in every performance he is a part of.

In college, J.D. continued to perform in numerous plays and one-acts, culminating in the opportunity of a lifetime: the chance to play the role of Tevye in a UCLA Hooligan Theater Company production of Fiddler on the Roof to a completely sold-out run.

Since then, J.D. has focused primarily on his voice work, but has not left the theater behind; recently starring as the crazed, perverted, and goofball serial killer ‘Fyodor’ in the sold-out Hollywood Fringe Festival run of Leland Frankel’s hit comedy, Slaughterhouse.
